FAQ
How soon should I contact a lawyer after being charged?
Immediately. The earlier we are involved, the more options we have to investigate evidence, challenge procedures, and prepare your defense.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Bring any paperwork related to your charge, including summonses, bond paperwork, prior court documents, or communication from law enforcement. The more information we have upfront, the better we can evaluate your case and begin building your defense.
Will I go to jail for a DUI in Virginia?
Penalties vary depending on prior offenses and the facts of your case. Jail is possible, but many cases can be reduced, dismissed, or resolved strategically. Early legal representation makes a significant difference.
Is my consultation confidential?
Yes. All consultations are private and protected by attorney-client confidentiality.
Do I have to appear in court?
In many cases, yes. However, in certain misdemeanor matters, we may be able to appear on your behalf. We’ll explain exactly what to expect.
Can my charges be reduced or dismissed?
Every case is different, but charges can sometimes be reduced or dismissed depending on the evidence, procedures used by law enforcement, and the specific facts involved. We carefully examine every detail to identify weaknesses in the prosecution’s case and pursue the strongest defense strategy possible.
